Amazing! We dont even know where to start on how good an email scam this email is, but here goes…
- Its sent from the email address: award.google@gmail.com.
- Its sent from Lawrence Page, we’re thinking that dear Larry is going to have an @google.com email address rather than a @gmail address.
- They have put a picture of Larry Page talking at an event for added authority…amazing!
- Apparently the recipient has won the amazing figure of £850,000! Based on you having being selected on absolutely no criteria whatsoever.
- If you wish to claim your prize, you should email Larry back directly to his Gmail account, but actually reply ’Dr. Williams Gibson’ (love the Doctor bit, makes him sound very trustworthy) on his email address google.claim@zing.vn. Zing.vn being a Vietnamese bulletin board. Why not reply to Larry on his Gmail account????
- But we cant decide if what we like most is the fact that they have sent it from Belgrave House (Google’s Old HQ in London – nice touch) or the fact that they ask the question - (8) Ever won an online lottery? – What is the point of this question? If you have then you cant receive your prize??? Because here is a little tip…you still haven’t won an online lottery!!!!
It goes without saying that this is an email scam and that surely no-one out there would think of it as anything else, but we thought we’d share just to be on the safe side!
