It’s been a bit of a crazy day for those sitelinks today in Google AdWords. We’ve seen them popping up all over the place which has entertained us.

We like this one for the term ‘cheap flights’ where the ad in P2 has sitelinks and the ad in P1 doesn’t. Poor Cheap Flights paying a premium CPC for P1 on the term and Easy Voyage will probably be getting a better CTR (we have seen CTR double as a result of sitelinks overnight on generic terms.)

Google Site Links

Our favourite has to be this one where the affiliates have sitelinks for P&O but the agency who are running P&O’s PPC account haven’t put them on yet (classic!)…

Google Sitelinks

A bold move from Google that is causing chaos for PPC advertisers. I’m sure we’ll see lots of changes next week as brands are forced to make the most of the new sitelinks.

The showing of AdWords sitelinks in P2 in stead of P1 is just because P1 haven’t filled out the info – Don’t you think?

Yes, we’d agree on brand terms. However on generic terms it may be a QS issue. It seems like sitelinks are showing on generic keywords if you have a QS of 7/10. So if P1 has less than 7/10 are are just bidding high then they may still not be showing. Need to write more relevant ad copy in which case!
